We are seeking an experienced
Freelance Design Manager
to join our team and oversee the design coordination of two to three residential schemes in London. The role is critical to ensuring design deliverables align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. There is an option for this role to transition to a permanent position if desired. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design process across multiple residential schemes, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements. Collaborate with architects, consultants, and internal teams to resolve design issues and drive project progression. Review and coordinate technical drawings, specifications, and design submissions to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. Monitor design timelines and milestones, identifying risks and implementing solutions to keep projects on track. Provide technical guidance and support to site teams during construction phases. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination between design and delivery teams. Requirements: Proven experience as a Design Manager, ideally within residential projects and main contractor environments. Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, construction methods, and design coordination processes. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Availability to work on-site in London as required. Contract Terms: Freelance position with competitive day rate. Option for a temp-to-perm arrangement if mutually agreed.
