Client Overview Our client, a leading UK contractor, specialises in delivering innovative and high-quality infrastructure projects. They are seeking an experienced freelance Senior Project Manager to lead a significant bridge replacement project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Purpose of the Role To provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the delivery of the bridge replacement project, managing resources, risks, and client relationships effectively.
Key Accountabilities Lead and manage the successful delivery of the bridge replacement project from inception to completion. Oversee project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with client expectations. Manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative working environment. Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project delivery. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, ensuring regular updates and addressing concerns proactively. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all project activities.
Competency Requirements Proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects, particularly bridge or structural works. Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Strong ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
Technical/Professional Expertise Extensive experience in project management within the construction or civil engineering sectors. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Knowledge of relevant legislation, contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT), and industry standards. Accreditation in project management (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is desirable.
