The Wales Millennium Centre is seeking an experienced Stage Manager to join the production of Next Up Company Production 2025. We are particularly interested in applicants who identify as coming from a global majority background. The Next Up Company at Wales Millennium Centre is a collaborative project working with a cast of young performers developing a piece of Hip Hop Theatre to be performed in the Weston Studio at the Wales Millennium Centre on the 25th & 26th April 2025. The performance piece will explore issues that are important to young people. During the weekend of the show we will be holding a Dros Nos Sleepover event at the centre for young people and during the 27th April there will be creative response workshops in a series of spaces at Wales Millennium Centre. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the Next Up Company Production. Dates required: Production Meetings (Hourly) W/C 17th February W/C 10th March W/C 24th March W/C 7th April Production intensive: - Saturday 19th April - Sunday 20th April - Monday 21st April - Tuesday 22nd April - Wednesday 23rd April - Thursday 24th April - Friday 25th April (Performance) - Saturday 26th April (Performance) - Sunday 27th April (Dros Nos – Creative Response workshops) Primary Purpose: To ensure the efficient and professional management of stage operations for Next Up Company Production, contributing to a high-quality production experience for audiences while supporting the artistic and technical teams. The Stage Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the seamless coordination of all elements of the production, ensuring rehearsals and performances run smoothly and meet the highest standards of theatre practice. Specialist Accountabilities: Manage all aspects of stage operations for the production. Coordinate with performers, technical teams, and production management to ensure smooth transitions and adherence to schedules. Oversee and implement production schedules, ensuring compliance with the agreed working hours and conditions. Maintain high standards of professionalism and ensure compliance with production rules and guidelines. Facilitate rehearsals and performances, including overseeing technical rehearsals, get-ins, and get-outs. Candidate Requirements: Proven experience as a Stage Manager in professional theatre. Strong organisational, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic schedules. Knowledge of Equity guidelines and industry standards.
