Freelance Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London (Central)
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience £300 - £350 Per Day

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 main contractor on a landmark mixed-use redevelopment in Central London. Reporting to the Senior QS, this one-year project offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a prestigious scheme that integrates commercial, retail, residential, and sustainable design.
About the Project
Demolition and excavation of existing structures, including sub-basement levels. Construction of a multi-level mixed-use building for retail, office, and residential use. Incorporation of BREEAM Very Good (Retail) and Excellent (Office) standards and Level 4 Code for Sustainable Homes. Land-use swap, including infrastructure, landscaping, and access roads. This project blends heritage sensitivity with modern sustainability, requiring a sharp eye for detail and precision.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cost plans, budgets, and valuations for a complex redevelopment. Oversee procurement and subcontractor packages to ensure scope and budget compliance. Administer JCT contracts, managing variations, extensions, and final accounts. Provide financial reporting and ensure alignment with sustainability and quality goals. Collaborate with site and design teams to resolve challenges and maintain progress.
What We're Looking For
Proven Quantity Surveying experience with Tier 1 main contractors on large-scale, mixed-use projects. Expertise in high-end retail, commercial, and residential schemes. Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and advanced cost management. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and thrive under deadlines in a dynamic environment.
