Freight Forwarding Assistant
Reporting to: Freight Forwarding Manager.
Job Role:
To oversee the smooth running of our forwarding activities on behalf of our owners and parent company. This will potentially include quoting through to invoicing and everything in between.
The ideal candidate should be:
Conversant in Import and Export Customs formalities both in the UK and abroad inclusive of customs entries both import and export. An understanding of Destin8 would be an advantage. Have a good understanding for the various shipping lines serving the Iberian, Italian, Benelux and Chinese markets. Have a good understanding of what is required as a Freight Forwarder and how we can stand out against the competition. Be an effective negotiator for the various parts of the logistics chain, especially towards rate negotiations with shipping lines and hauliers. Be able to work on their own or within a group/team environment. Be proactive in problem solving with an ability to think outside the box. Be able to communicate to all levels. Have a good understanding of Excel and Microsoft Word. Be able to develop best in class operational and service levels towards our customers.
