We have an opportunity for four Freight Operator Team Leaders to join our Christchurch Operations. We are looking for one Team Leader per shift at the following times: AM Shift: 3.30am and 5.00am start PM Shift: 12.00pm and 2.00pm start As our Team Leader, you will constantly work to improve the operational performance of the shift and the Freight Branch to ensure the highest level of service is given to our customers, all outbound units are loaded in a timely fashion and our equipment when loaded is utilised to its maximum. The opportunity: The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and direction of freight handling, staff training, and related activities to provide quality service to internal and external customers. Working as part of the team as a Freight Operator, you will communicate effectively with your team members and develop working relationships with both internal and external customers. Your duties will include: Day-to-day supervision and direction of freight handling. Staff training and related activities to provide quality service to customers. Communicate effectively with your team members. Operate forklifts, unloading & loading of units. Develop working relationships with customers. Schedule and conduct team briefings daily. Ensure all freight is properly identified, re-origin and destination. Make sure scanning of freight is done properly – Monitor staff regularly. Actively promote health and safety through daily team huddles. A minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisor role. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Transport, Freight, and Logistics. To hold your Full NZ Driver’s License. Hold a current F and OSH endorsed forklift license. Experience in working within an operational environment. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
