Key Responsibilities
As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will:
Participate in pre-assignment discussions with the audit team.
Assist the senior auditor in completing the planning section.
Understand the objectives and budget requirements for each assignment.
Allocate work to junior team members and provide on-the-job training, review, and feedback.
Ensure on-site work aligns with the approved plan and budget.
Inform the manager of any developments that may necessitate a change in strategy.
Propose logical solutions to any issues that arise.
Prepare a detailed assignment memorandum with an appropriate analytical review.
Clear manager and partner review points and follow up on any outstanding queries.
Efficiently and professionally respond to client queries and concerns, often dealing directly with senior management.
Provide sound advice to clients and demonstrate knowledge of business issues.
Offer a detailed analysis of time charged on every assignment to facilitate billing and future planning.
Person Specification
Seeking candidates with:
ACCA/ACA, or equivalent, qualified.
External commercial auditing experience, particularly in compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
Experience working in Financial Services external audit is preferred, especially insurance.
Experience performing statutory audits and half-year review engagements in compliance with UK Auditing Standards.
Competence in preparing statutory financial reports in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
Ability to prepare cash flow statements and consolidated financial statements.
Proficiency in documenting and assessing internal control procedures, including board report preparation.
Experience in training, supervising, and coordinating junior team members.
Client liaison experience from the planning stage to audit completion, identifying opportunities to add value.
