Job Overview
We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our friendly team. Southern Microbiological Services is based in Wellington, Somerset. We are a busy laboratory testing food/drink/pet food and cosmetics for companies. We need someone to join us and if you have an interest in science/food you will enjoy this work. The hours we are offering are flexible to suit the lab but will be roughly based on 3 day shifts (10.30am-6.30pm) and 2 late shifts (1.00pm to finish, usually around 9pm). There is also one weekend in four to be worked (Saturday and Sunday 9am - finish, usually around 4pm). Days off during the week will be given when the weekend is worked. We are not a 9-5 environment so flexibility is essential.

include: Perform routine laboratory tasks, including cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment. Utilise Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry and management. Follow all safety protocols during laboratory operations. Requirements Previous lab experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
