Our client has a friendly busy, well-established mixed practice, with two other branch clinics that are PSS accredited. They have an in-house lab, ultrasound, digital x-ray, and well-equipped theatre. The clinic is located in a residential area in the capital and is close to a large number of amenities. They have lots of local sporting and water activities in a scenic location, with many dog-friendly walking trails.
They currently have 7 vets and 13 RVNs with 2 SVN's and 3 ANAs. They have a strong support team of 12. The candidate needs to be friendly, easy to get along with, and have a good sense of humour.
You must be a registered nurse with the RCVS and have experience with sole working for out of hours. A full driving licence would also be an advantage. No two days will be the same, but some of your day-to-day duties will include inpatient, surgical and medical nursing, nurse clinics, and some reception and phone cover when required. Being on an Island, they see a wide and varied number of cases as referrals are not always an option, which can include tube feeding, dental descales, and scrubbing in to help the vets.
Ideally, this is a full-time role for 37.5 hours worked over one week, normally consisting of one 9.5 hours, 3 x 7.5 hours mixed early and late starts (0830/1030), and one half day (5.5 hours). Inclusion in the OOH rota (no requirement to stay in practice) - payment of retainers and attendance in addition to salary.
Salary is up to £35k pa.
