We are looking for a trainee dental nurse to join our friendly team of nurses. No experience necessary; all training will be given and paid for. 39 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm, Friday 9am to 5pm. Competitive rates of pay with the opportunity to join the company pension. Uniform provided. Desired Qualification: Maths and English Grade C or above. Desired Personal Qualities: Friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious, organised, punctual, and meticulous in your approach to all tasks, particularly those which relate to hygiene and health and safety. Having a DBS check and Hepatitis immunity is mandatory for this job; both are organised and paid for by the practice. Job Description: Your role will be to assist the dentist with the day-to-day running of a surgery by: Setting up the surgery. Performing the end of day procedure. Welcoming patients into the surgery and providing them with safety protection. Assisting the dentist with charting and clinical procedures. Processing any lab work and x-rays. Liaising with reception to ensure continuity. Cleaning and sterilising all used equipment and instruments, spraying and wiping down all surfaces between each patient. Setting up instrument trays and putting sterilised instruments away. Segregating and disposing of surgery waste e.g. hazardous, clinical, recycling, and household. Being aware of and following practice protocols whilst carrying out all duties. Ensuring CPD requirements are met and recorded. Performing reception duties as and when required. You will be enrolled onto a Dental Nursing course where you will learn: Dental anatomy and assessment of oral health. Principles and techniques of dental radiography. Preparing and maintaining environments, instruments, and equipment for clinical dental procedures. Promoting oral health for individuals. Providing support during the extraction of teeth and minor oral surgery procedures. Principles of infection control in the dental environment. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Pay: £1.00 per year.
