Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in gas installation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires proficiency in using various tools and equipment, as well as the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The Gas Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all gas appliances and systems are installed and maintained to the highest safety standards. Previous experience in air source heat pumps is preferable but not required. Training will be provided for air source heat pumps servicing, breakdowns, and installations. Responsibilities Assemble and install gas appliances, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Weld components as necessary to ensure secure fittings and connections. Conduct routine maintenance checks on gas systems and appliances, identifying any issues that require attention. Perform heavy lifting when required, particularly when handling large equipment or materials. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks. Plumb gas lines accurately to ensure proper functioning of appliances. Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to complete projects efficiently. Perform routine servicing of air source heat pumps and unvented cylinder systems. Conduct gas safety checks on rental properties, including hobs, fires, and water heaters. Qualifications Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is advantageous for transporting materials. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are required. Relevant certifications or qualifications in gas engineering are highly desirable. Unvented G3 certificate. Water Regs. Gas core, boilers, fires, cookers. ASHP previous experience preferred.
