Job Description

Job Role: Bid Manager Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (Inc. Car Allowance) + Excellent Benefits Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (Hybrid) GEM Partnership is delighted to partner with a well-established market-leading property development agency in the recruitment of a Bid Manager. With 10 offices across the UK, they provide property consultancy services ranging from architecture to property valuation and management. As part of exciting growth and development plans, our client is recruiting an individual to lead their bids and tender activity across their portfolio of services, where you will be responsible for their bid and tender strategy and its execution. Responsibilities: Lead the formulation of winning strategies, client solutions, tender planning, and response delivery. Identify opportunities for bid submissions and effectively manage their completion on behalf of diverse business streams. Own the entire bids process from qualification through to submission and follow up, producing client-focused high-quality bids. Coordinate and execute the completion of bids, crafting persuasive and detailed proposals - bids will span both the public and private sector and vary significantly in value and complexity. Engage with stakeholders across the business to create compelling and appropriately priced solutions and matrix manage all contributing functions. Maintain the bidding timeframes and ensure that all inputs and documents are submitted effectively, keeping track of cost elements and, where appropriate, managing budgets. Formulate bidding strategy, advising and analysing bid deliverables and strategically inputting into go/no-go decisions through market/competitor analysis, client advice, business configuration, and capacity. Embed best practice throughout the bid process, sharing learning across the organisation and providing training and ad-hoc coaching to colleagues as appropriate. Requirements: Bid management experience, ideally gained in a multi-business stream organisation. Open on sector and person background, although it is felt engineering, property, or professional services would be a strong alignment. Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject. Member of relevant professional institution preferable but not essential. Experience of E-Tendering/portals. Strong experience in managing partners to build trusted external relationships and to establish and grow value and gravitas with internal colleagues. Able to challenge internal stakeholders in a compelling way. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation at an exciting time with the ability to shape the role and make a significant impact on the future success of the organisation. It offers hybrid working, although there is an expectation you will be more office-based in your early tenure until you get up-to-speed. If you feel you have the qualities our client is seeking, please forward your CV and covering letter indicating your current package to Graeme Parker at GEM Partnership or for a discreet conversation call our Peterlee office. GEM Partnership is acting as an employment agency on this vacancy.
