General Manager Job Description The General Manager will lead a multifunctional staff and direct business operation activities including product development, purchasing, materials management, inventory and document control, manufacturing engineering, production planning and scheduling, quality assurance and safety of plant operations. The selected candidate will inspire the staff to achieve results in alignment with company and business strategy as well as operational objectives focused on quality, lead-time/delivery, productivity, resource/asset utilization and employee engagement.He/she will deliver operational excellence and lead the implementation of a continuous improvement culture. Role and Responsibilities Develop and execute a strategic plan for optimized productivity Hold responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and financial performance to ensure product cost-effectiveness and organizational profitability Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment while implementing innovative changes Promote and adhere to company standards for excellence and quality Provide guidance and feedback to help employees strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas Delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees while enforcing all Company policies Oversee day-to-day operations, assign performance goals and ensure their completion Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management or related field 3 – 5 years of experience in operational leadership, processes, optimization and continuous improvement Proven success in a general management managerial role Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans Ability to motivate and lead employees while holding them accountable Strong working knowledge of operational procedures and practices Medical device industry experience a plus
