Role overview:
To direct, manage and influence the operational and strategic management of the site including all hygiene activities. Ensuring the food quality hygiene standards, H&S requirements and financial management of the site are adhered to in line with EMCOR GROUP UK and customer policies/procedures.
What you'll do:
- Lead the site teams to implement and constantly drive standards for hygiene and housekeeping to meet or surpass the Service Level Agreement and which are consistent across all sites.
- Ensure that all operational activities of each of the business streams are conducted in accordance with common EMCOR UK policies, standards and procedures.
- Compliance of Health, Safety, Quality, Hygiene and the Environment Financial Reporting Standards Commercial and legislative Tender Approval and Adjudication Personnel Marketing.
- Provide to the Account Director a monthly report giving an executive overview of each business stream and any other significant issues affecting or likely to affect the performance of EMCOR UK. This includes full P&L activities and any other significant issues.
- Lead site management to motivate and develop staff and operatives, ensuring job appraisal and skills reviews are conducted to schedule and resulting in training and development needs are accurately identified and implemented.
- Drive continuously improvement through all product streams that delivers a better, cheaper, simpler ethos which contributes to a robust strategic action plan for Bury St Edmunds Customer Supply.
- Support the Hygiene Operations Manager in raising site standards and assisting with any hygiene driven site projects. Bring industry experience and innovation to raise standards and comply with retailers’ codes of practises.
- Lead, direct and develop a strong team, gaining respect by action and example, having presence, gravitas and charisma, to stand out amongst others.
- Be an effective and progressive leader with experience of directing and developing multi-disciplined teams.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers to support account development and long-term sustainable and profitable tenure.
- Manage suppliers and sub-contractors. Support the Cleaning Manager and liaise with suppliers of services. Arrange review meetings as and when required and report on any developing initiatives & trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide support within the EMCOR & customer team on cleaning updates, pest control, laundry & audits.
- Actively support and develop a strong customer care culture and programme throughout all levels of the organisation.
- Liaise with central functions to roll out EMCOR UK wide initiatives locally.
- Attend off site General Manager meetings and central EMCOR UK functions as required.
Who you'll be:
- Experience of working with a quality management system with a high degree of procedural compliance.
- An obvious empathy with customers and clients, an ability to quickly grasp their needs and an ability to galvanise resources to satisfy client demands.
- Experience of financial management and P&L.
- Experience in hygiene leadership in the food industry.
- Enthusiastic approach with a proactive can-do attitude.
- Be an effective and progressive leader with experience of directing and developing multi-disciplined teams.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Determination and resilience to achieve objectives and targets when faced with increasing operational difficulties.
- Confident communication skills at all levels.
- Build and sustain great relationships.
- Level 4 or Award in Food Safety Management for Manufacturing or HACCP. (desirable but not essential as training will be given).
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications is preferred.
