In Cambridge, we operate a dual branded site working in partnership with the Hyatt brand to bring experiences to life. The role: Dual Branded General Manager Are you a born leader? A guest and brand focused host with unbelievable multi-tasking abilities? Do you get energy from leading, developing and coaching your motivated team on a distinctive brand that you are passionate about? You’ll be captain of the ship and guardian of both the Locke and Hyatt brands, managing the overall operation. Responsible for the consistent aesthetic of the hotel, inline with the original design and staging, as well as being responsible for the brand activation within your Locke property. Reporting to the UK Head of Operations, you’ll have a strong understanding of how to maintain and enrich the Locke and Hyatt brands, epic people management and a natural flair for delivering service that makes guests rave about their stay and want to come back. What it looks like: Creating tell-your-mates experiences that make guests want to keep coming back Curate cultural programming to reflect local neighbourhood culture by building relationships with local partners Manage the relationship with the Eddington Community and the University of Cambridge, attending quarterly stakeholder meetings. Managing the relationship with the Hyatt Franchise team ensuring all operational goals are met. Managing the enrolment of the World of Hyatt programme. Ensuring that all Hyatt systems from Ecotrack to Medallia are managed and updated. Managing partnerships with local F&B Partners to ensure that guest experience and revenue generation are maximised. Being ‘in the know’ on local goings-on and inspiring guests with new ideas Acknowledging and acting on guest reviews in a way that shows Locke cares Leading your team and empowering them to do all these things, too Coaching and being accountable for your team, including setting SMART objectives Encouraging open communication across your team, including regular team meetings Recruiting, training and developing top-notch talent Taking charge of refurbishments, including managing budgets and liaising with contractors Taking ownership of Health & Safety in the building, including audits and ongoing preventative maintenance Managing the outsourced Housekeeping partnership Stepping in for on-call and duty management responsibilities when needed Delegating effectively to keep things running like clockwork Reviewing P&L and cost-control management to set future business strategy Actively looking for opportunities to grow revenue and occupancy in collaboration with the Sales Team and Revenue Management Team Promoting the Locke brand through events and media, in collaboration with the Commercial Manager Identifying upselling opportunities and helping your team do the same What you'll need: Love for hosting communities and creating thoughtful spaces Knowledge of local community desirable Experience with brand management and delivery Human-led leadership skills and experience managing a team Hospitality experience managing a team and a busy property Intuitive customer service Proven sales ability and savvy negotiating skills Confidence in crisis-management Analytical brain built for problem solving Strategic thinking and decision-making Confidence to act quickly and take smart risks based on insight Strong grasp of spoken and written English Strong relationship management knowledge Next-level communication Impeccable attention to detail Rock-solid time management Dash of creativity, flexibility and a habit of thinking outside the box Confidence using IT systems and software (including Microsoft Office) Values you'll share: Courage to question, evolve and be human Curiosity to seek out innovation, change and creativity Confidence to challenge convention and look for better ways to do and be Accountability and the desire to empower those around you Freedom to be yourself at work, just as much as at play Acceptance that perfection doesn’t exist and no-one has a monopoly on good ideas Recognition of humanity in yourself and others to learn fast, evolve and grow
