General Manager About the Role: Are you a seasoned leader with expertise in manufacturing, engineering, and continuous improvement? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into the role of General Manager at a large and dynamic facility specializing in sustainable energy solutions. As General Manager, you will oversee all facets of production, engineering, maintenance, and operational excellence, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing workplace. You will guide a skilled team through an exciting phase of growth and investment, driving innovation, automation, and continuous improvement to achieve the site's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities: Champion a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and safe working practices. Conduct risk assessments and share best practices for continuous safety improvements across the site. Optimise equipment performance, reliability, and availability. Lead technical projects, including facility upgrades and equipment installations. Drive automation and technological advancements to boost manufacturing efficiency and productivity. Oversee production processes, monitor KPIs, and ensure achievement of budgetary targets. Lead operational excellence initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise resources, minimise waste, and enhance efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations. Evaluate and manage capital expenditure projects to enhance site capabilities. Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability. Secure value-for-money agreements with suppliers and contractors while upholding quality and service standards. Key Attributes: Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on building high-performing and collaborative teams. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with sound decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire. Proven expertise in implementing Lean Six Sigma principles and driving continuous improvement. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Qualifications: A minimum of five years' experience in a senior leadership role within manufacturing or heavy industry operations. Demonstrable track record of delivering operational excellence and managing large teams. A degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
