You'll be responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of North Norfolk Coast and Broads portfolio, with dispersed countryside and coastal sites across 100 miles of the north Norfolk coast and Broads. You’ll lead a team including rangers, harbour masters, visitor welcome staff, facilities manager and volunteers who support the work of the portfolio. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, you’ll be the leader of the National Trust’s activities across the North Norfolk Coast and Broads, holding key partner relationships on behalf of the organisation. There are significant opportunities for restoring nature on this portfolio, and challenges brought about by our changing climate. To realise these opportunities and meet the challenges you’ll need to work at scale and in partnership with others. The coast is a complex environment, and you’ll need to be skilled at working across organisational boundaries and building excellent relations with local communities. What you'll be doing You’ll lead the development of our new coastal approach, develop new ways to engage our supporters in the work we’re doing on the coast, deliver great experiences, meet our conservation requirements and ensure that the portfolio remains financially well managed and sustainable. You’ll support your team to develop the right priorities, balancing access, and conservation. You'll lead your team operating across multiple visitor sites, with exciting plans to deliver more for nature and climate. You’ll be an experienced leader, able to inspire and empower your team. You'll ensure that all our operations are safe and managed to the highest standards and you’ll understand, anticipate, and manage issues that could affect the Trust’s reputation, finances, or assets. Some weekend working as well as occasional evenings will be required.
