Job Description The General Manager will ensure that the distribution centre achieves its customer service requirements in accordance with agreed budgets. This will be delivered in a safe manner, whilst promoting employee engagement and development and planning for the longer-term improvement of the business. Based at our client's site in Hampshire, key responsibilities will include: Promote a culture of employee engagement on site through your actions and various other initiatives. Ensure Customer Service and Customer Performance requirements are met in full. Manage, support and motivate the Management team to achieve daily output objectives and deliver shift KPI's and achieve longer-term objectives. Set, monitor and deliver against an agreed budget. Involvement in network management decisions, seeking to optimise overall company performance. Ensure the team has the support in ensuring that there is sufficient employee resource both in quality and quantity in order to meet site performance expectations. Have overall responsibility for Health & Safety on site, including direct line management of the H&S Manager. In collaboration with the Head of Facilities & Safety Management, ensure alignment with the overall safety strategy and champion a true safety culture. Champion the company's quality management system on site ensuring that agreed standards are maintained and improved. Ensure compliance with all company policies and legislation. Build and develop good working relationships with union representatives and full time officials. The Successful Applicant The successful General Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Hampshire and be able to demonstrate the following experience: Experience in leading large scale FMCG operations that include a significant warehouse and/or transport operation. A people first leadership style with an emphasis on engagement and developing others. Experience of leading and delivering change on a large scale. Experience of managing large and complex budgets. An effective communicator that can collaborate across all levels. Previous experience of managing effectively within unionised environments. What's on Offer An attractive salary package ranging from £80,000 to £95,000 per annum. A benefits package that includes a car allowance, bonus, pension, private medical insurance and 25 days annual leave.
