Northwood Headquarters is home to five military command and control functions, including a NATO command Headquarters. The site is the workplace for over 2,000 senior military personnel from 30 different nations, with over 800 bedrooms on site. Aramark UK have recently been awarded the soft FM contract for a further seven years, and an opportunity has become available to join the team as the General Manager at Northwood HQ. This is a full-time and permanent role which will involve leading a team of 200 staff delivering catering, cleaning, shop and coffee outlets, Mess management, domestic assistance, and function events. Working predominantly on weekdays, the General Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategy, advocating for your client, encouraging dedication, driving engagement, and delivering positive financial results. Vetting checks will be needed for this position. What’s in it for you: Competitive salary, plus eligibility for bonus Company pension Discounted food Generous annual leave, increasing in line with service Full training and fantastic development opportunities Job Responsibilities: Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site and the respective team Overall responsibility for Quality and Safety compliance on site Drive a culture of Safety through the implementation of all safety, quality and service excellence standards Deliver on food and labour targets by using the applicable tools and processes to proactively lead financial outcomes, operational indicators and behaviours. Develop a tailored and balanced operating plan to achieve financial targets and meet the overall needs of the client Maintain financial information system as required by Aramark UK and the client Engage clients and key service users through ongoing and frequent interactions, meetings and account activities Execute on quality and innovation by finding opportunities to implement new products and services Monitor and evaluate site performance and productivity Maintain good communications and working relationships with your client, key customers and all staff Consistently and proactively review financial and operational performance of contract Identify opportunities at site level and investigate potential Provide ongoing opportunities for development, learning and recognition to engage and enable team members Retain talent by promoting inclusion and leveraging differences Support and guide team members through meaningful feedback and ongoing coaching Manage recruitment, training and development of management team on site and provide regular feedback on performance Ensure purchasing compliance, understand and account for all non-compliant spend, and achieve local and enterprise sustainability objectives Lead and maintain account records that follow Aramark, government, and accrediting agency standards Attend and report on operational/management meetings as required Key Requirements: Experience operating as a General Manager in a contract catering / facilities management business A strong people manager, able to lead a team and collaborate with several client organisations Experience managing a P&L A strong commercial background If you are applying for this role and you already work for Aramark, you must notify your line manager before submitting your application.
