A long-established distributor of specialist consumer goods is looking for a Transport & Distribution Manager to lead the transport operations, reporting to the Operations Director North. This is a unionised environment.
As Transport and Distribution Manager, you will directly oversee the transport operations of the business, responsible for a team of 35 drivers as well as 85 warehouse operatives.
A large part of your role will be ensuring the business remains compliant with O License and VOSA requirements, putting in place new systems and procedures where necessary. You will also regularly liaise with customers on service delivery matters, ensuring expectations are understood and met.
To be successful in this role, you will be a versatile and adaptable individual with substantial experience in a transport manager role, preferably with additional knowledge or experience in warehouse management. Communication skills are key, and experience of working in a family business or SME environment will be an advantage. A current CPC (national or international) is required.
