To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and to represent the Trust externally regarding the Occupational Therapy Inpatient services provided to patients in the General Medicine Directorate as delegated by the Head and Deputy Head Occupational Therapist or the Head of Therapies.
To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. Formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills, and knowledge of treatment skills e.g. Occupational Therapy treatment techniques, cognitive assessment, patient education, exercise classes, and other alternative options.
