We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Remand Prison located in the centre of Doncaster. The prison houses around 1150 male patients aged 18 years and up; ideal applicants for this role will have experience supporting patients with substance misuse needs. Main Duties of the Job

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and well-respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will: Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing opportunities to develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice or A&E environment. Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to meet patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team and engage in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice Evidence of continuing professional development Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications Secure environments are one of the most challenging yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
