We have created a unique new General Practitioner Development Role in Neurodevelopmental Assessments. We will train you to become part of our multidisciplinary assessment team providing a mix of: In-person physical examinations and child observations Peer MDT diagnostic decision making, with support of the senior clinical MDT where required Prescribing within our ADHD pathways Why is Paloma Health unique in Neurodevelopmental services? We have developed a new gold-standard autism assessment pathway and our own Patient Record IT system, which allows us to offer: Our patients exceptional service and timely assessments, as well as clear, strengths and needs based outcomes, regardless of whether an autism diagnosis is made. High assessor role satisfaction by improving the experience of delivering assessments. For example, we are building a tool to partially automate diagnostic report writing, which we know is a pressure of the role. Main duties of the job

We will train you in delivering clinical examinations and child observations within Autism and ADHD, and how to feed into peer MDT discussions. We will also train you on responsible prescribing within a Neurodevelopmental Service. You will act in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy, including conducting a risk assessment where necessary. You will keep up to date with mandatory training, and your professional qualification requirements including CPD. About us

Paloma Health is a new technology-enabled provider for NHS mental and physical health services. We are driven by our mission to make high-quality NHS outpatient services accessible within 4 weeks, and to make those services more affordable for the NHS. You will be part of our much needed NHS service, Neurodevelopmental Assessments for children and young people (CYP). This covers both autism and ADHD assessments, and will include a combined assessment pathway. We need your help to innovate and tackle the crisis in NHS Neurodevelopmental Services as set out in the October 2024 Childrens Commissioner report, with hundreds of thousands of children waiting 2+ years for an autism and/or ADHD assessment. Required: Registration with the GMC, and on the GP Register Good time management skills including caseload management High quality parent and patient communication skills Enhanced DBS with barred list check (as you will be working with children) Previous experience in Autism or ADHD assessments, and prescribing within ADHD Experience of conducting safeguarding risk assessments Evidence of Safeguarding training (Level 3 and above) Time commitment: Part time, either 2-3 days per week. Location: This is a hybrid role between our Exeter (Devon) in person clinic and home.
