Partner with the best As a Generator Service Technician within the HGI team (Harrington Generators International), you will work at various site locations performing hands-on maintenance, installation, service, and repair to a varied range of diesel, LPG, and petrol generating sets, generator control systems, and associated equipment. Responsibilities: Carrying out fault diagnosis and forward planning on assigned work/projects. Completing generator servicing and maintenance in conjunction with the supplied schedule by the Project Manager. Ensuring the most economical and effective layout of electrical installations while achieving a high level of productivity in work assigned. Ensuring any personnel under control carry out all works to required standards. Compiling spares or materials lists in good time for work assigned. Providing technical bid support including preparation of wiring diagrams, O&M manuals, site layout drawings, etc. Carrying out site visits and surveys as requested by the Project Manager and/or Senior Field Engineer, ensuring all paperwork is returned fully completed and in a timely manner. Escalating issues and risks to the Project Manager for adequate investigation and resolution. Ensuring all actions comply with quality standards, health and safety standards, and Company standards. Assessing, diagnosing, and interfacing with existing wiring circuits such as ring mains, fire systems, alarm systems, etc. Providing technical support for AC and DC generators and control systems. To be successful in this role you will: Have HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and proven experience in a similar role. Have proven experience in managing and coordinating workload. Show ability to complete work accurately and on time with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrate ability to solve problems that may arise on site. Have good knowledge of generators, ancillary equipment, and site installation/maintenance requirements. Be flexible in working hours and able to provide out-of-hours support, including weekends (on a rota basis). Be able to travel within the UK (occasional trips abroad).
