The Role We are looking to recruit a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Advanced CNS team within Lanarkshire's Rapid Cancer Diagnostics Service. The successful candidate will manage a highly specialist or complex caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will lead or manage the development and implementation of a programme of quality improvement, clinical audit, and research activity. The successful candidate will also lead the supervision, education, and development of members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide effective leadership within the scope of the role. Contract type Fixed term - 12 months

What we'll need you to bring Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC) Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level Postgraduate expertise within specialty/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilized to deliver leadership within the specialty. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in specialty and applying clinical judgment. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative. Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management. Working knowledge of basic information technology. It would be good if you also had: Non-Medical Prescriber Qualification Clinical Examination & Assessment Qualification Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent academic qualifications Advanced Communication Skills / Training Communication or Counselling Skills qualification/course Significant comprehensive post-registration experience within relevant specialty Experience of nurse-led clinics Experience of working with MDT Experience as a CNS Experience of undertaking audit and research Experience of prioritizing work and managing competing demands Knowledge of national, regional, and local cancer strategies/priorities Experience of multi-professional teaching Looking to find out more?
