The Role We are looking to recruit a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse, to join the Advanced CNS team within Lanarkshire's Rapid Cancer Diagnostics Service. The successful candidate will manage a highly specialist or complex caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will lead or manage the development and implementation of a programme of quality improvement, clinical audit and research activity. The successful candidate will also lead the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide effective leadership within scope of role. Contract type Fixed term - 12 months

/ Band 7 / Full Time / 37 hours Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in the Cancer team within University Hospital Wishaw. What we'll need you to bring Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC) Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management. Working knowledge of basic information technology. It would be good if you also had: Non-Medical Prescriber Qualification Clinical Examination & Assessment Qualification Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent academic qualifications Advanced Communication Skills / Training Communication or Counselling Skills qualification / course Significant comprehensive post registration experience within relevant speciality Experience of nurse led clinics Experience of working with MDT Experience as a CNS Experience of undertaking audit and research Experience of prioritising work and managing competing demands Be able to demonstrate knowledge of national, regional and local cancer strategies / priorities Experience of multi-professional teaching Looking to find out more?
