Sustainability Function . This role will be based on site in

Birmingham . Role Responsibilities: Supporting the Ecology Data Lead in the collection, management, and delivery of ecological data in line with HS2 Technical Standards and Data Specifications. Assist the Ecology Data Lead to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain BBV’s bespoke ecology data collection and manipulation tools. Collaborate with Information Management Team’s developers to manage and implement system changes on the Ecology Enterprise Geodatabase. Support Subject Matter Experts by producing detailed maps and figures for inclusion in Protected Species License applications and amendments, ecological management plans, and client handover evidence documents. Develop training materials and deliver training to the ecology team and wider user base of ecology and environmental applications. Experience Required: Educated to degree or Masters level in an Environmental or Data Engineering related subject. Experience in developing geospatial data collection and processing tools using PostGreSQL, Python, Arcade script, ARCGIS Online Web Application Builder, and ESRI Fieldmaps. Excellent MS Office experience – Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Skills in working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project. Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organization skills. Basic knowledge and understanding of ecological survey techniques. Full valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel. Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI has been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
