apprenticeship standard: a
Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship certificate
, and
a
BA (Hons) in Professional Practice in Leadership and Management
.
As part of this apprenticeship, apprentices are required to attend university on a day release basis, and therefore will be required to travel. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices can apply for
Chartered Manager status . The Experience During the apprenticeship, you will get hands-on experience supporting project teams operating in every part of Caterpillar’s business, building your knowledge of the Caterpillar organisation, and providing a perfect opportunity to develop and grow a business network which will serve you in good stead as you progress your Caterpillar career. Your journey will start with a comprehensive onboarding programme, accompanied and guided all the way by an experienced project professional, to equip you with the tools and knowledge to thrive in a project environment. You will quickly progress into working alongside an experienced colleague supporting the execution of real projects in the Caterpillar portfolio, continuing to grow your technical and people skills, and experiencing the satisfaction of being part of a winning team when projects are successfully delivered. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to showcase your talent as you take ownership of your own project areas and become established supporting projects in your own right. You will also be providing expert support to project teams including: Project chartering, planning, and schedule governance using waterfall and agile methodologies. Implementing Risk Management and Change Management strategies. Providing portfolio support, resource management, and cost management solutions. Delivering dynamic reporting and data transformation using tools such as PowerBI and SharpCloud. Entry requirement GCSEs: Maths and English GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above. A-Levels: Minimum of 96 points from 3 A-Levels. NOTE:
Equivalent academic qualifications to the above requirements welcome. You can apply with predicted grades. The first stage of the process is to complete the online application; this must be done before the closing date of the role that you're applying for. Once we reach the close date, we will begin reviewing all our applications, this may take a little while and we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know if you have been successful in moving forward to the next stage. Stage two – Assessment Centre:
The half-day assessment centre (i.e. interview) will look at a range of behaviours such as teamwork, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving. Each will consist of a group exercise, an interview and a presentation. Details will vary depending on the career area/role you are applying for. We aim to make these days fun, inclusive and as relaxed as possible. Stage three – Offer:
After the assessment centre, the Caterpillar team will review the feedback and extend offers to our chosen candidates, we aim to do this as quickly as possible. We hold an Engagement Day for all new apprentices to provide you with an opportunity to meet fellow new starters across the facility before your employment start date.
