My client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Global Travel Manager to join their Operations team. In this role, you will oversee and enhance the firm's travel program, ensuring seamless operations, cost efficiency, and exceptional service across all locations. You will be instrumental in consolidating the travel services to a single global provider for approximately 15 global offices. The Global Travel Manager will oversee all aspects of the global travel services, including policies, processes, and TMC relationships, ensuring compliance across all locations. The role involves optimizing travel operations and providing insightful reports to senior management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Developing, reviewing, and maintaining global travel policies and enforcing them globally. Aligning and executing global travel programs at the local level with key internal leaders. Ensuring TMC adherence to travel-related processes (e.g., pre-approvals, out-of-policy exceptions, preferred hotels) and monitoring industry trends for improvement. Managing TMC relationships, negotiating contracts with travel suppliers, and collaborating with Procurement. Coordinating with TMC and other teams for special programs requiring separate SOWs, and overseeing hotel programs. Monitoring supplier performance, compliance with SLAs, and driving global travel partner performance. Streamlining travel requirements across locations, ensuring consistent service and approaches. Addressing local travel needs, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances. Managing global travel-related projects, including plans, milestones, and interdependencies. Defining and tracking KPIs to measure travel program success. Acting as a central communication point between regional teams and suppliers. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand travel needs and proactively addressing concerns. Overseeing the intranet Travel pages. Supporting traveler safety and managing risk in collaboration with preferred travel suppliers and the Senior Security Manager. Aligning the Firm's travel approach with sustainability objectives and ensuring necessary reporting with the Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager. Developing and presenting senior management reports on travel projects, expenditure, and program performance. Using data-driven insights to propose improvements, differentiating between “Office” and “Matter” spend, and optimizing travel spend. Identifying actionable insights to enhance traveler experiences and operational efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Degree in Business Administration, Travel Management, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in global travel management within a professional services work environment. Proven expertise in supplier negotiations, contract management, and understanding of corporate travel policies and compliance. Experience coordinating travel across multiple international locations and resolving global-local operational challenges. Knowledge of travel supplier landscapes, market trends, and travel program governance. Demonstrated ability to manage complex travel programs efficiently with excellent project management skills. Exceptional communication skills to engage with regional teams, suppliers, and senior management, combined with active listening skills for conflict resolution and problem solving. Proficiency in travel management tools, reporting software, and using data to drive decisions and improvements.
