Fixed term salaried GP from April until January 2026 working four sessions Tuesday and Wednesday. Must be available to work August 2024. This is to cover parental leave of another GP in our team and sudden unexpected illness of the previous arranged cover. Bottisham Medical Practice offering £11,200 per annum per session pro-rata. (£44,800 per annum for 4 sessions) 6 weeks' annual leave and 2 week study leave pro-rata. NHS pension. Indemnity fully reimbursed. Training practice for GP trainees and medical students allowing for some variability in your rota with teaching if desired. Home laptop linked to SystmOne if desired. In-house dispensary and nurse prescribing teams. Centrally funded Acute Home visiting Service (UWAC, JET and practice paramedic) accessible to manage home visits so we don't have to do them all. Regular protected learning time - practice closure one afternoon per month for significant events meeting, team pizza lunch and CPD. Active PCN collaboration, with direct access to MDT - in-house physio, paramedic, social prescriber & care coordinator. Capped appointment lists 13 appointments per session (3 of which are phone calls & 10 Face to face). Half day duty sessions, shared on rotation. Main duties of the job

Clinical care:

Provide direct clinical care, such as diagnosing patients, prescribing medication, attending home visits and completing care home ward rounds if required and duty doctor sessions. Indirect clinical care:

Complete indirect clinical care, such as writing prescriptions, making referrals, and responding to messages. Administrative tasks:

Process paperwork, such as repeat prescription requests and referrals, in a timely manner. Practice management:

Participate in practice audits, contribute to quality initiatives, and attend practice meetings. Patient care:

Develop care plans for patients, screen for disease risk factors, and assess the healthcare needs of patients. Equality and diversity:

Support the rights of patients, carers, and colleagues, and act in a way that is consistent with the practice's policies and procedures. Continuous improvement:

Continually re-examine processes and look for opportunities to improve the quality of work. About us

Bottisham medical practice is a semi-rural practice just North of Cambridge within the Cambridge City PCN. We have a patient population of around 5900 patients. We provide medical services to our local care homes. We do not staff the extended hours or out of hours services. Working hours 8:30am - 6pm. No weekends. Our team is our greatest asset - a friendly team with a warm caring ethos where patient continuity is valued. 3 of our 7 GPs were former trainees at the practice. We have a practice manager, operations manager and workflow team. The workflow team ensure a low admin load for the GP team due to their excellent coding and care navigation. We close for half a day a month for a team pizza lunch and training. Access to JET and UWAC and our practice paramedic ensure home visits are shared out fairly. About the Candidate:
