Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. The Practice Nurse will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective and efficient care to our patients. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessing patient needs and developing care plans. Conduct health assessments and screenings, recording vital signs and medical histories accurately. Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed by physicians. Educate patients on health management, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for patients. Participate in practice audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery. Infection prevention control; lead and work to IPC policy, providing audits, training, support and evidence of compliance to the Practice Manager. Experience A valid nursing qualification and registration with the relevant nursing authority is essential. Previous experience in a general practice environment is essential. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and empathy. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being capable of working independently when required. LTC conditions management (Diabetes/Asthma/COPD/Hypertension). Administering childhood vaccinations, flu vaccines and other routine immunisations. Travel vaccinations. Cervical screening – perform cervical smears in line with current national guidelines and best practice protocols. Treatment room duties (wound care/dressings, suture/clip removal, ear syringing, urine testing, and BP checks). This list is not exhaustive.
