At Orchard Medical Centre we are looking to recruit a receptionist/administrator to join our friendly supportive reception and administration team, which will be a mix of morning and afternoon shifts. You will play a vital role in the smooth running of our practice, be the first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to our patients. If you have a caring nature, are a motivated team player and have an ability to work under pressure we would like to hear from you. Main duties of the job

Greet patients and visitors to the practice. Book in, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice appointment procedures ensuring optimum efficiency of the appointment system. Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary. Action all practice emails. Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy. Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly. Undertake administration tasks as allocated by Manager. To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures. Action repeat prescriptions in an efficient manner, following the practice procedures. Action patient queries via the practice website. Action electronic letters from the hospitals and other agencies. Scanning of all patient letters. Contact patients with results etc via text, letter and telephone. Action any e-referrals as deemed necessary by a Doctor/Nurse. Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records. Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed electronically in correct patient record. Maintaining confidentiality at all times. About us

To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients. Job summary:

Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Person Specification

Experience

Experience of working in a public facing role. Experience of using EMIS Web. Experience in reception/admin role. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
