Job summary This is a Fixed term part time GP Clinical Assistant post at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The session is specifically available to support urgent cancer clinics on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. These sessions are available immediately and until August 2025. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required and Entry on the GP Specialist Register is essential. Should the appointee not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required. Main duties of the job The appointee will work within the dermatology department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The duties of the post will be contributing to the department's Urgent and Suspect Cancer superclinic that runs on Wednesdays, with a mix of clinician types under consultant supervision seeing new patients referred on an Urgent Suspected Cancer pathway. Qualifications Essential Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC). Name appears on the GMC GP register Clinical experience Essential An interest in Dermatology Evidence of experience in dermatology Desirable Experience of working in outpatient Dermatology Clinics. Diploma in Dermatology Research Essential Ability to critically assess published research Desirable Publications in Peer reviewed journals. Teaching and training Essential Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training Continuous Professional Development Essential Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months of employment Desirable Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio Clinical governance and audit Essential Experience in performing clinical audit Desirable Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project Personal attributes Essential Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values Good oral and written communication skills Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit.
