Are you an outstanding Graduate looking to gain experience before pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Therapist? Look no further, as we have a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School looking for a Graduate Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Learning Support Assistant for the remainder of this academic year. You will be supporting a small class, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff and support staff team to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' language acquisition. You will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and deliver interventions to children with speech, language, and communication needs both in a small group and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career as a Speech and Language Therapist. The School: This school is located near Epsom and is for children aged 4-19, who require the support of a specialised curriculum to enable them to thrive and reach their full potential. This school has a Therapy Department, consisting of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. This Graduate Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist role is an excellent opportunity to work closely and network with other teams of professionals, gaining relevant experience, expanding your knowledge and skillset. This role will give you essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting - career progression routes include SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and various Child Psychology routes. Job Role and Responsibilities: Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students Provide behaviour and pastoral support Build robust and effective relationships with students Meet the individual needs of students with a practical approach Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills Exhibit caring, compassionate, and good listening skills Work 1:1 and in small groups with students Ensure the safeguarding of students Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD Additional Information: Start date: ASAP Excellent on-site training, support, and CPD is provided to ensure the safeguarding of all students. Salary: £90-110 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 16:00, term time only. No previous experience is required; if you have a Psychology, Criminology, or Social Science degree, it's an excellent use of your degree.
