Key benefits include: Competitive salary Pension plan Life and income protection Flexibility to work from home on occasion Convenient location near Datchet station, 20 minutes from Heathrow, with on-site parking Key Responsibilities Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to generate innovative designs based on preliminary research and engineering principles Diagnosing and identifying solutions for existing development projects Managing ongoing and new projects on a day-to-day basis Performing detailed design work from concept to production, focusing on components, complex mechanisms, and assemblies for high-volume manufacture Utilizing 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks) Conducting detailed tolerance stack and statistical analyses Designing proof-of-principle test rigs and assembly jigs Developing verification protocols and supporting testing Creating design documentation for medical devices Managing prototype production and testing to validate principles and production solutions Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure smooth production transitions Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team Qualifications and Skills 0-3 years of experience A 1st or 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Creative problem-solving skills and aptitude for researching and applying various technologies Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, especially injection moulding Strong analytical skills, including engineering calculations Project Management Experience Proactive, flexible approach with good presentation and communication skills Proficiency in CAD, particularly in SolidWorks for solid and surface modelling as well as 2D technical drawing creation Preferred Experience Medical device design involving complex mechanisms Understanding of complex dynamics and solid mechanics Experience in risk analysis, mathematical modelling, and statistical analysis Previous work in the design of medical devices Familiarity with plastic injection moulding Application Process If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit a cover letter detailing why you wish to join Shaily UK and highlighting relevant experience and skills along with your resume.
