Graduate Design Engineer at NOV Elmar in Kintore , you will be a valuable member of a design team which is responsible for delivering a range of class-leading innovative engineering designs and solutions to satisfy customers. You will support projects in both small to medium volume production environments and one-off special projects and will understand the need to produce designs and plan, organise and drive projects whilst working in collaboration with the manufacturing supply chain in order to meet tight customer deadlines. An exceptional appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision-making, delivering technical guidance and best practices, along with the ability to turn client-driven requirements into profitable solutions are all critical to this role. You will be a competent individual with an ability to complete design tasks pertinent to the position, completing challenges both individually and as part of a design team, working in collaboration with other team members and colleagues. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience and share them through a variety of exciting projects. This is a great role for a graduate engineer to join a company that invests heavily in your training and development. You will play a key part in the Design Engineering Team and have the opportunity to progress into senior roles further down the line. Key Responsibilities Develop engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and reports, ensuring timely completion to meet project deadlines. Collaborate on small and large engineering projects, carrying out design, testing, and organizational tasks under the supervision of the Principal Engineer. Assist in issuing and reviewing engineering documents to ensure accuracy and quality standards. Provide engineering support to internal teams and external clients, offering technical guidance as needed. Work closely with clients, suppliers, and the manufacturing supply chain to ensure project goals are achieved. Maintain awareness of project timelines, communicating progress or delays with the team and management. Participate in clerical and administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Engineering Department. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and innovation. Support testing and validation of designs to ensure functionality and adherence to standards. Take on training and development opportunities to expand technical expertise and contribute to team success. Qualifications & Skills Essential: Engineering degree or HND with 2+ years of relevant experience. Strong technical proficiency and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Desirable: Master’s degree in engineering.
