This is a hybrid working role - 3 days in the Buckinghamshire office and 2 days working from home, candidates need to hold a full UK driving licence

Basic salary £34,000 plus quarterly bonus and excellent benefits

My client is seeking a recent Graduate Embedded Software Engineer who can demonstrate work experience within a similar role.

As a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer, you will work as part of the embedded software team and have a solid foundation in programming, an enthusiasm for learning, and a genuine interest in embedded systems.

You will gain “hands-on” experience working with FreeRTOS and MicroPython, you will receive training and support to enhance your skills and contribute to the development of applications and systems for innovative embedded platforms.

Candidate Skills • Degree educated in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or Computer Science or related field • Good foundational knowledge in Python programming and a genuine interest in embedded systems. • Be familiar with embedded operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS), hardware and communication protocols such as CAN is advantageous, along with an understanding of C/C++ is desirable but not essential. • Strong diligence and critical thinking skills • Highly organised with good time-management skills • Able to work as part of a team with the ability to work both independently • Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to emerging technologies

Duties • Assist in debugging and testing software to meet system requirements and resolve any issues. • Assist in the creation of custom applications incorporating customer feedback and requests • Engage in design and code reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards. • Develop and update documentation for software design, functionality, and testing processes. • Keep up-to-date on developments in embedded software technologies and industry trends • Develop software and design and write efficient, maintainable software for embedded systems using Python and MicroPython • Work closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware components effectively • Adopt programming best practices to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of software systems
