We seek to appoint a Graduate Gap Staff member with a qualification in Psychology to join our larger Resident Staff Team made up also of teachers. The role of the Graduate Gap Staff is to provide support for the day-to-day running of the St Catherine’s Senior and Prep schools across various departments. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and professional graduate, who will display confidence in working with colleagues and pupils and be willing to make a positive contribution to the whole school. In particular, the Graduate Gap will support our Resident Clinical Psychologists and Counsellor, Academic Mentoring Department (SENCOs) and the boarding team and will have the opportunity to become involved with the Psychology teaching department by doing some lesson observations and shadow teaching. This is therefore a golden opportunity for a graduate considering a career in clinical or educational psychology to work alongside experienced professionals to explore those career paths. The person appointed will also work at times alongside the School Leaver Gap students, lending some leadership within that team and mentoring the younger Gaps, and will at other times perform duties more suited to her greater maturity and graduate qualifications, including being a member of the Resident Staff Team for boarding house supervision duties. The post would suit a graduate considering a career in teaching/education and wanting to find out more about schools from the teacher perspective before committing to teacher training. Remuneration for the role and accommodation on site in a school house are part of the package. This position is only suited to a female applicant because of the need for overnight supervision of girls and one-to-one interaction with pupils in the boarding house. Further details and an application form are available from

or by email from the HR Administrator on

jobapplications@stcatherines.info . Applications will be assessed in order of receipt and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received. Please apply as soon as possible. St Catherine’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and an enhanced DBS and barred list check. The School is an equal opportunities employer.
