About The Role

As a member of CDP’s usability and user-centred design team, you will support the creation of early-stage concepts and validation of product designs by identifying and implementing appropriate user and usability research techniques. You will generate the evidence to support design decisions for physical and digital products across our consumer and healthcare sectors.

Supported by a senior team, you will have the freedom to develop your own skills through on-the-job learning and attendance at training events. You will become increasingly influential in your role and will be expected to contribute to shared team learning and the growth and development of our usability and user-centred design proposition.

About You

You are a highly-motivated and dynamic graduate or postgraduate with a desire to work in an exciting and fast-paced commercial environment where responsibility for and ownership of activities is afforded early. With a naturally user-centred and inquisitive mindset, you have a desire to understand user needs, motivations, and capabilities to help design products that improve people’s lives.

A degree or MSc/MEng in Psychology, Human Factors, Ergonomics, Product Design, Engineering, or Social Sciences related field.

Excellent presentation and communication skills.

A deeply enquiring mind and strong problem-solving skills.

Accurate and detailed note-taking skills.

An ability to analyse and distil information from audio, video, and numerical data sources to provide clear conclusions and recommendations rapidly and accurately.

An ability to set up and manage audio and video recording equipment for usability research sessions.

A willingness and ability to travel nationwide and overseas.

Knowledge of primary user and usability research approaches, methodologies, and tools.

Experience in planning and implementing user research (an advantage but not essential).

Knowledge of regulated healthcare products (an advantage but not essential).
