Apply today! This Special Educational Needs School near Aldershot is for children aged 4-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Most children have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.

This school is looking for a passionate and committed Graduate / Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development and language acquisition.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals, and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in small groups and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career.

Job role and responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant :

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
  • Personal care support
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.

**Start date ASAP**Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students**£80-£85 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.30pm, PAYE, term time only**No previous experience is required**You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
