Job Purpose

Being in touch with the latest technology and implementing it alongside the current proposition. The Graduate Research and Development Engineer is an integral role in realising the above. In this role, you will be directly responsible for ensuring VUE are working with the latest technology to create new and improve current solutions, products, and offerings within the VUE catalogue.

We would love to welcome you to our office, working Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours a week.


Your responsibilities day to day will be…

·        Product Updates

o  Discover ways and means to improve functionality of existing products such as Cameras, Digital Video Recorders and Telematics devices.

o  Collaborate with manufacturing partners to develop new features and add functionality to current propositions.

·        Continuous improvement

o  Market research to find new technologies available to utilise, adding value for customers through their video telematics solutions.

o  Design and develop solutions from customer requests ensuring they align with both business and market needs.

·        Quality Control

o  Test and analyse both new and existing products to ensure current solutions align with VUE’s quality standards.

o  Design robust products which can be used within multiple vehicle sectors along with bespoke offerings.

·        Knowledge transfer and training

o  Document processes, findings, and product updates to ensure knowledge is easily transferable to colleagues and customers.

o  Present findings and deliver training sessions to ensure the wider business is up to speed with new developments.

o  Work closely with the marketing team to release new products and ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant for desired markets.

·        Support

o  Simplify technical language and propositions for products to make them more understandable for colleagues and customers.

o  Answer support questions from engineers and hardware/software support teams.

o  Manage and resolve support tickets related to our solutions efficiently.

o  Actively participate in internal and external meetings to answer any technical questions on our solutions.

·        Be comfortable working alone and within a team, working on projects solo and collaboratively between departments.

·        Demonstrate a can-do attitude to get projects and tasks closed down efficiently and to the highest of standards.

Qualifications required:

Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience. i.e. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with an ideal focus on a relevant field such as engineering, computing, or technology. However, we also encourage applicants with degrees in various other disciplines to apply.


Previous experience with 12v systems desirable.


Salary: £22,500- £24,500
