23 Months Job Description: The Phenotyping Core Team is responsible for performing all the phenotyping services within the Mary Lyon Centre, from behavioural studies to surgical procedures and imaging. The main projects for the Graduate trainee would be: Under the supervision of the Head of Phenotyping Core, help with the development of new phenotyping procedures or the improvement of a current one to the latest standards. This will involve a combination of literature reading and liaising with companies and collaborators. Improve the Quality Control process of the data generated within the phenotyping team. This will require a good knowledge of all procedures we perform and constant collaboration with the project managers to refine the current system in place. Main Duties/Key Responsibilities: The graduate trainee will be trained by our skilled and experienced technicians in different phenotyping techniques that are carried out by the team. They will be expected to become confident in working with mice to high welfare standards and to help the team in carrying out routine phenotyping techniques according to a tight experimental schedule. Working Relationships: The graduate trainee is expected to be able to work individually and as part of the team. They will need to interact on a daily basis with other team members, project managers, and with other teams across the Mary Lyon Centre.
