Your new company Hays NI have been retained by one of the UK’s premier utilities contractors who have an immediate need for a Graduate Engineer to join their operations within Northern Ireland. This utilities contractor has been in operation for over 60 years and operates in four principal sectors, including rail, communications, renewables and utilities, encompassing power, oil and gas. The company is continuing to expand its operational footprint throughout NI and is currently seeking a Graduate Engineer to work on gas projects throughout Belfast for a high-profile client of over 20 years.

Your new role Your new company welcomes you as Graduate Engineer, responsible for providing engineering solutions for all utilities work on-site with some office work including the installation of gas pipelines and associated utilities throughout Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for solving engineering queries in relation to the installation of main gas lines along with interpreting design documents, creating design drawings and liaising closely with clients and customers.

What you'll need to succeed As the role is for a Graduate Engineer, the contractor welcomes recent graduates within a construction or engineering related degree discipline. A placement year working on a construction site is beneficial, but not essential as all training will be provided. Excellent communication, personal skills and a keen willingness to learn will be key to understanding and motivating site teams to ensure the timely delivery of all utilities works to the highest standard.
