I am actively seeking a skilled Graduate Structural Engineer to join a busy and successful Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Lincoln. This is an exciting and varied role that combines both site inspections and office-based design work. The ideal candidate will enjoy the balance of working on-site and applying their technical expertise to office-based calculations, design, and CAD work.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Structural Engineer you will:

Conduct site inspections of lifeline systems (fall protection systems) installed in industries like steelworks, power plants, and docks. Design and assess new height safety systems, including structural design for new steelwork, brackets, and support structures. Evaluate and ensure existing structures can support the loads of installed lifeline systems. Inspect lifeline systems that have been installed over the past 25 years at various sites across the UK. Work on the renovation and repair of complex Victorian-era structures and funicular railways, including necessary strengthening and repair work. Design detailed solutions and produce CAD drawings based on site measurements and design calculations. Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful execution of on-site works while adhering to safety and engineering standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

A 2:1 or higher in MEng, BEng, BSc, or a related Civil or Structural Engineering degree. Knowledge of steelwork design, brackets, and support structures. Familiarity with lifeline systems or similar safety installations (preferred). Experience working on the renovation or repair of complex structures is beneficial. Ability to plan and manage design work effectively to ensure smooth site operations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Hours & Benefits:

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm (36 hours per week). Lunch Breaks: 60 minutes Monday to Thursday, 30 minutes on Fridays. Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per year plus bank holidays, accrued on a pro-rata basis. Pension: 4% company contribution to pension scheme. Transport: Company-provided car or van for travel to sites. Training & PPE: Full training provided, along with all necessary personal protective equipment.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, combining practical site experience with office-based technical design. If you are eager to work in a dynamic environment with room for personal and professional development, we'd love to hear from you!
