Full time Permanent, 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday Here at The Recruitment Co, we are currently recruiting a Technical Engineer to work for a company based in Cwmbran. Main Job Roles: Provide a planned and proactive approach to work demonstrating exceptional organisational skills, effective communication, and teamwork. Calculate and assess loads to be imposed on products by analysing architects' and structural engineers' drawings received by post, email, or fax, ensuring an effective and competitive scheduling and special lintels pricing policy. Create a priced specification of appropriate products, ensuring technical schedules are expedited within the agreed timescale and therefore achieving targets set for the technical department. Prepare special lintel drawings accurately, ensuring zero complaints regarding design quality. Follow the drawing office procedure, ensuring drawing numbers and revision text are logged. Answer incoming technical enquiries. Deal with customer queries in a professional and efficient manner. Ensure you have an effective and close working relationship with the external sales team and with other departments and sites. Demonstrate and promote a culture of teamwork and integrity, particularly within the office and generally across the group. Ensure you are familiar with relevant quality control checks, checklists, systems, and procedures to be able to check the quality of your own work and the work of others when requested. Demonstrate exceptional communication and problem-solving skills through the use of the Collaborative Way (training will be given). Go prepared to your performance review with any relevant information relating to your performance and KPIs. Required Skills: Competent in the use of AutoCAD 3D. SolidWorks would be advantageous. A Degree in either civil, structural engineering, architectural, or construction of buildings-based engineering. Some experience in the construction industry would be beneficial but not compulsory.
