You will need to have a proven track record of leading seminars, discussion groups or meetings, leading and managing projects in an academic or work environment as well as experience of working in a team and having effective professional relationships. Having experience of both verbal and written communication addressing a varied audience is also essential. An understanding of the local government, of local and national planning and transport policies, and of unique transport challenges in Kent is required to be successful in this role. Along with a commitment to working in the public sector and an appreciation of how local authority services are linked in the pursuit of holistic outcomes for residents and businesses, you will also require the ability to work in a team, against tight deadlines without compromising high standards. Strategic thinking, good problem-solving skills, and proficiency in IT is essential, specifically being well-versed with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project.
