Graduates Wanted Are you a graduate (any subject)? Are you still looking for the right opportunity to start your career? Are you in an unfulfilling ‘dead-end’ job looking for something new? If you answered ‘yes’ to those questions, an excellent London secondary school is looking for a graduate interested in gaining some school experience with the intention of going on to train as a teacher. The annual salary is a minimum of £27,495 initially (reviewed annually). Minimum Requirements: A professional demeanour Flexibility Adaptability Good oral communication skills with the ability to clarify and explain instructions Some experience of dealing with children would be desirable but not essential Enthusiasm Supportive nature An understanding and commitment to equality Natural authority Ability to take direction but also show initiative when required Ability to motivate and encourage A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children A degree In the first two years, the successful graduate will experience and develop a range of skills under the guidance of school-based colleagues. Initially, lessons will be planned and prepared for you. Teachers will assess the students’ work after the lessons, allowing you to focus on classroom skills and techniques; explaining tasks to students, helping and guiding them, answering their questions, and ensuring they understand the work and follow the instructions left by the teacher. The successful graduate will also be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and/or Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable).
