AEC Kedron is co-located with the AEC and Greencross Kedron sharing hospital facilities and embracing a one team philosophy. The team across both AEC and Greencross work cohesively to help each other out, and are looking for new team members that share this ethos and desire to work collaboratively.
As AEC Kedron grows towards becoming a full 24 / 7 facility, they are seeking a vet to join in a part time capacity with shifts including weekday mornings (5am-2:30pm) or evenings (1:30pm-11:30pm). Weekend and overnight shifts will also be available for those interested in working purely ECC shifts.
You will be involved in patient discharges, management of hospital cases, as well as triage and treatment of unwell patients that present to AEC during the day. Additionally, you will also assist the GP team as required by seeing GP consultations, performing procedures, monitoring of GP surgical patients both pre and post-operatively and assisting with GP daytime activities.
Job Description
The Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) provides premier after-hours vet care to sick and injured pets. Today, AEC is part of the largest emergency and specialist group in Australia, hosting the largest contingent of Emergency Veterinarians in the country.
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality clinical care to both GP and ECC patients.
Work with cutting-edge equipment, including multi-parameter patient monitors, in-house laboratory (PT/APTT and blood gas analysis), ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, blood products, and mechanical ventilation.
Collaborate seamlessly with both the general practice and emergency teams, sharing resources and staff when needed.
Manage a range of responsibilities, including GP surgical patients, pre- and post-op care, emergency consultations, and hospitalised cases.
Work alongside the Vet Director and Head Nurses to develop and refine the role, providing feedback to ensure the position is well-supported.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Current Veterinary registration and relevant qualifications.
A strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care across both GP and ECC settings.
The ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
