Grid Engineer London - Mayfair - hybrid circa £55,000 Fourblue have partnered with a renewable energy developer and investor who are working across various technologies including solar, battery storage, CHP and glasshouse assets. Our client is seeking a Grid Engineer to support the development team in the process of connecting their energy projects to the grid. You would be working directly with the Head of Connections whilst engaging with the wider development team. Role and Responsibilities Assist in identifying and qualifying suitable grid capacity for electricity storage, demand, and generation projects in the UK Liaise with grid operators, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with connection requirements Support negotiations of grid connection agreements and resolve grid-related issues Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for connection options Monitor and report on grid connection progress and performance Prepare and submit grid connection applications, managing the approval process Stay updated on regulations and technology developments relevant to grid connections and energy projects Experience and Skills Required: Proven experience in energy project development, particularly in managing grid connection processes and pre-construction planning Strong ability to assess grid capacity, prepare essential technical documentation, and submit accurate information for successful grid applications Skilled at initiating and fostering relationships with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Transmission Network Operators (TNOs), Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, and other third-party consultants Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ideally electrical engineering, though other fields are also considered Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating electrical single line diagrams and related technical documentation If you are interested in applying for this role, please send your most up to date CV to this advert.
