A renewable energy company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Grid Manager to oversee the grid connection process for upcoming wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

Grid Manager Remuneration: £70,000 - £100,000 22 days holiday + bank holidays Pension Free parking Full package discussed at interview stage

Grid Manager Key Responsibilities: Oversee the grid connection lifecycle, from feasibility to energization. Develop and refine cost estimates for electrical and grid-related components in early-stage projects. Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including DNOs, TOs, NESO, and ICPs/IDNOs. Provide technical expertise for grid applications. Evaluate and analyse grid connection offers, identifying risks and opportunities for cost and timeline improvements. Monitor regulatory and policy updates, providing internal reports. Manage grid compliance processes from start to finish. Collaborate with OEMs to establish efficient testing and compliance strategies for new sites, offering input during contract negotiations.

Essential Qualifications: Comprehensive understanding of the UK's distribution and transmission networks, along with the regulatory landscape. Proven track record in delivering grid connections for power generation projects. Familiarity with power modelling and grid compliance testing procedures. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop cost estimations to support decision-making. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
